Photography can have a lasting impact and tell a story that words alone cannot. Greater Seattle Cares would like to include photography that depicts life in an encampment or homeless-centered news and events within the Greater Seattle area. Before posting images GSC will review submissions to ensure they are appropriate and don’t contain anything that may be interpreted as sensitive.
Image size/dimensions: At least 1024px on long the long side
Image resolution: 72dpi (jpg compression 9 or below) for digital use; if we have a need for print we will contact you to request a high-resolution image separately.
Color space: sRGB
Image file size: 500kb or smaller preferred
Allowable file formats: JPG, PNG
File naming convention:
- Last name + first initial
- Date submitting (yr/mo/day)
- Sequence #
- After the sequence # you can leave the rest of your usual naming but please no special characters or spaces.
Watermarks: No watermarks directly on images please. A credit will be given with each photo that’s posted. You can enter your preference on the submission form below.
Releases: For photos that clearly depict encampment residents (recognizable in any way) a release/permission should be obtained before submitting their likeness.
Ownership: By submitting photos to Greater Seattle Cares you acknowledge and agree that you are the rightful owner and copyright holder.
